Chatham American Legion Post 759 meets on the first Monday of the Month. Social hour begins at 6:00 P.M. and formal activities start at 7:00 P.M.  Meetings are held at the post home at 206 West Chestnut Street in Chatham, Illinois.

American Legion National Vice Commander to visit Chatham Post 759

 

Chatham American Legion Post 759 is honored to have National Vice Commander James C Morris visit our community and Post on January 26th 2010, 12:00 Noon. The American Legion family (Legion, Auxiliary, Legion Riders and SAL) will be conducting a membership caravan traveling across Illinois. American Legion Post 759 will take advantage of this opportunity to invite our community, American Legion members and local veterans to meet Vice Commander Morris and be updated about National issues of the American Legion and other news and information that affects veteran’s affairs.

 

 

James C. Morris, National Vice Commander - Central Region
An Army veteran, Morris served in Germany with the 97th Signal Group during the Vietnam War. He has been a member of Post 97 in Cardington, Ohio, for 39 years, and has served as post and department commander. He has held national positions on the Distinguished Guests Committee and Counter-Subversive Activities Committee. Most recently, he was the vice chairman of the Public Relations Commission. Morris is retired from HPM Manufacturing. A longtime Little League baseball coach, he was a member of the Cardington Fire Department for 17 years and the Cardington-Lincoln Board of Education.
